We're deluding ourselves that it's a "Decentralized, Distributed, Federated, and/or Open Network". We're lying that as long as you own your data it's easy to reuse if a platform goes offline.
It's easy for devs. But not for the target market: your family and friends and the 8 billion.

Currently, I have yet to see an #OpenSocialWeb platform, service, and/or software where it can use my existing data and display it using their front-end, without the need to manually migrate or do an import.

Ask yourselves: Are you building the open #SocialWeb for yourself or for the non-techie people?
If it's for the general public, then put #PeopleFirst. Split the backend from the frontend. The people shouldn't be migrating/importing within the Social Web.
